Andromeda’s Lament

* The footnote of a yard stopped me reading. When I discovered it referenced a meter, I found out that the foundational unit of length at the time of Andromeda was the pous, 1.01 foot, not surprisingly also based on the same human body part. For more authenticity, replace "but only a yard or two" at the end of the first paragraph with "but only five pous." * The legend of Perseus and Andromeda mentions she was betrothed to Phineus, younger brother of her father,King Cepheus. You could have included a lament about being betrothed to an old lecher. * The legend also says King Cepheus had no sons, so Andromeda had no brother to tease the cat in heat. * Totally plausible that Andromeda would prefer slavery to being eaten. Dario, a Guardsman I knew from sword practice, approached Dira, holding her posture of submission, hesitated and then bound her wrists. The crowd roared. Men, including the Merchant, the last losing bidder, congratulated the Builder, the winning bidder. Dario put his arm around Dira, lifted her to her feet, cupped her breast before closing to stroke her rear flank, and said, "By the Priest Kings, Dira, that was the most incredible auction I've ever seen!"
